Dawn of Television

Sep 1998

My first article for a good many years was published in the September issue of the British popular electronics magazine "Electronics World".  The article covered the results of the new recordings.

The front cover picture is my 3D rendition of Baird's laboratory and for the first time, EW had 'flick-book' animations of my restored pictures of "Miss Pounsford" and Betty Bolton.

Restoring Baird's Image Oct 1998 This article focuses in on the Baird's Phonovision experiments of 1927-28 and contains new information not on this web-site! Most exciting are the new graphics and new results indicating how powerful Baird's main Nipkow disc drive motor was.  And all from the video signal!!
